Square Park Capital Management

Square Park Capital Management is a hospitality investment and development firm in New York. Benjamin Earley and Ioana Holt founded it in 2018 to develop and hold boutique hotels and short-term rental buildings in cities where demand for good rooms runs ahead of supply.

Square Park and HOLT

The operating company came first. HOLT, a sister company owned by the same two founders, started in 2013 as a corporate rental company in New York and began designing and developing its own properties in 2019.

Square Park is the investment side. It puts capital in alongside property owners and outside investors and runs design and construction, and HOLT manages each property once it opens. Between them the two companies own, lease or manage more than 150 doors in North America and Europe, including four hotels.

Where we build

Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico

Hotel De Mi Independencia is a 120-year-old hacienda three blocks from the Zócalo that we turned into a boutique hotel with the family that owns it. HOLT runs it at close to 90% occupancy year-round. Villa Noria, also in Oaxaca, is a villa for large groups we renovated with its owner. Our next hotel, NEXUS, is a planned 31-key property one block from Independencia.

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

We've worked in San Miguel since 2020 and have dozens of projects there. The best known is Hotel Del Pueblito, an unfinished budget hotel four blocks from the Parroquia that we completed and redesigned. More on our Mexico work is on the Mexico hotel investment page.

Bucharest, Romania

Square Park has worked in Bucharest since 2018 and finished more than 50 projects there. HOLT Old Town, a four-story historic monument we restored with a Romanian investor for over €7 million, opened in 2020 as our first hotel. The Mamulari Building, once home to Corneliu Coposu, is a three-unit monument we bought and restored as rental apartments.

We've also designed and managed construction in New York, Colorado, Spain, London and Italy.

Founders

Benjamin Earley, President and Co-founder

Ben runs business development and finance for Square Park and HOLT and owns the guest experience. He started his career at JPMorgan, including JPMorgan Asset Management, and later founded Paul Evans, a direct-to-consumer menswear brand. He has been building HOLT since 2013. Ben is a graduate of Tulane University. LinkedIn

Ioana Holt, CEO and Co-founder

Ioana oversees design and construction on every project and runs the teams on the ground in each city. Before HOLT she opened Rose & Basil, a restaurant in Manhattan's East Village. She is a graduate of New York University.
